Arrangements & Compositions

ARRANGEMENTS AND COMPOSITIONS is an exhibit that takes the concept of The Box — how a box is made, what it contains, how it holds and protects as well as hides its contents — and explores it as an art form. Boxes surround their contents and separate them from the rest of the world. The containment can be a form of protection, yet it also can disconnect the contents from present reality. To reveal the contents of a box, one must open it and explore the inside, which brings it its own excitement and risks.

These are photographs from the 2004 “Arrangements & Compositions” installation at the Indiana Black Expo, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA.
